CPD arrest and charge man with kidnapping, aggravated assault after allegedly holding others at gunpoint

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) – The Columbus Police Department announced the arrest of a man accused of kidnapping and holding other at gunpoint.

The incident happened in the 400 block of 1st Avenue at 9:40 p.m.

CPD says 40-year-old Nicholas King was arrested and charged with:

  • Three counts of kidnapping

  • Three counts of aggravated assault

  • Possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime

  • possession of a weapon by a convicted felon

  • Battery

  • Reckless conduct

Although it is unclear how many victims there are, CPD said that the victims were held at gunpoint against their will.
