CPD arrests five wanted fugitives during ‘warrant roundup’ operation
COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) – The Columbus Police Department announced the successful arrest of five individuals who were being sought out on multiple warrants during a “warrant roundup” operation on Wednesday.
At the time of the roundup, CPD said 22 people residing in the city were wanted and police focused their efforts on apprehending people who were wanted for multiple offenses.
The operation involved several searches in high-crime areas with officers from different units working together to coordinate the finding and apprehension of wanted individuals.
CPD says the following five individuals were arrested, clearing ten activating warrants:
Christopher McClinton, 44 –
Warrant for terroristic threats or acts
Tresean Persaud, 23 –
Warrant for terroristic threats or acts
Derrick Lawson, 26 –
Aggravated assault
Battery (Family Violence)
Felony financial transaction card theft
Felony entering auto
Gregory Johnson, 19 –
Felony home invasion
Felony possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of a crime
Scott Griffin, 58 –
Felony convicted felon in possession of firearms
Theft by deception
