CPS aims to reopen high schools by end of school year, CEO says

Chicago Public Schools officials said Wednesday plans are in the works to get high schoolers back in classrooms before the end of the school year.

- But tied into that issue, Chicago Public School officials are saying that plans are in the works to get high schoolers back in the classrooms before the end of this school year. CPS CEO Janice Jackson telling the Board of Education that meetings with the Chicago Teachers Union over those plans will begin soon. She hopes to have high schoolers back in the classrooms this spring. Now, on Monday, students in grades K through 5 return to in-person learning. Students in grades 6 through 8 returned the following Monday.
