Barbiecore doesn't end at the runway. Take this trend home.

By Perry Santanachote

Ever since it was announced that Greta Gerwig’s live-action Barbie film would premiere next summer, we’ve been seeing bold, poppy pink everywhere in styles that are delightfully retro (think circa 1990s). The empowering pink aesthetic, which has been coined Barbiecore, may have begun buzzing in the fashion world, but we don’t see why it should end there. Barbie has a Dreamhouse, after all.

We’ve rounded up 29 top-rated products from CR’s lab tests and at-home evaluations for you to dabble or dive into Barbiecore at home.

For Whole-House Ambiance

HGTV Home by Sherwin-Williams Infinity Interior Paint

CR’s take: HGTV Home by Sherwin-Williams Infinity does well for itself in our interior paint lab tests and the “lotus flower” shade is just as pretty as can be—a perfect backdrop for the bolder pinks in your home. It scores an Excellent for resisting stains and is self-priming so there’s no need to prime your walls in advance.

Philips Hue White and Color Ambiance Smart Lightbulb

CR’s take: Room’s not pink enough for you? Amp up the Barbiance with this Philips Hue White and Color Ambiance smart bulb. This model was the editor’s choice in our at-home evaluation of smart lightbulbs. It’s dimmable, compatible with all major smart home systems, generates bright, vivid colors, and offers a good range of white color temperatures—including a nice pinkish-orange hue at its warmest temperature setting (a setting some bulbs struggle with).

For the Kitchen

Samsung Bespoke Refrigerator

CR’s take: The French-door Samsung Bespoke RF29A967541 Refrigerator has four separate compartments with panels that you can customize with various colors, but obviously you’ll choose pink. The fridge’s inner workings scored it an Excellent in our thermostat control tests, meaning it achieves and maintains optimum temps in all sections to keep your food fresh. It also happens to score a Very Good in energy efficiency.

Le Creuset Signature Dutch Oven

CR’s take: The 5.5-quart Le Creuset Signature is always a top contender in our Dutch oven lab tests. It earns an Excellent rating in our browning tests—the only Dutch oven to do so—and is a cinch to clean. It also happens to weigh less than most at 12 pounds and has wide loop handles that make toting it around easy. The chiffon pink enamel and gold lid knob is as cute a combo as any.

Kate Spade 2-Slice Toaster

CR’s take: Kate Spade’s 2-Slice Toaster nabbed an Excellent in our lab tests for color range and toasting time. That means it evenly browns your slices—no matter whether you like ‘em light or dark—and it does it quickly so you’re not drooling into those toaster wells (which happen to be big enough for bagels).

KitchenAid Artisan KSM150PS 5-Quart Mixer

CR’s take: The KitchenAid Artisan Stand Mixer aces all our key lab tests—mixing, kneading, and whipping—earning an Excellent rating in each. The 10-speed mixer comes with a 5-quart stainless steel bowl, flat beater, dough hook, and wire whisk. The Artisan series includes nearly 50 color options, but we think pink (dried rose, specifically) is the way to go.

Great Jones Holy Sheet Bakeware

CR’s take: The Great Jones Holy Sheet has a nonstick ceramic coating that allows for drama-free cleanup, which earns it a Very Good score in our lab test. The drama was saved for the colorful raspberry-hued coating—a glorious backdrop for all your baked goods. It also snagged an Excellent score for its ability to help cook quickly.

Cuisinart DLC-2A Mini Prep Plus Food Chopper

CR’s take: The 3-cup Cuisinart Mini Prep Plus chopper combines great value with solid performance. In our tests, it was particularly adept at chopping almonds and onions, and grating Parmesan cheese. This little pink model is ideal if you have limited counter space—it takes up about as much counter space as a postcard.

Keurig Keurig K-Mini Plus Single Serve Coffee Maker

CR’s take: If you’re looking for a small pod coffee maker that is convenient to use, the Keurig K-Mini Plus is just the thing. Plus, it comes in "dusty rose." It receives a Very Good overall rating in our lab tests. Plus, Keurig pod machines as a group garner Excellent ratings for owner satisfaction in CR’s member surveys.

W&P Porter Sandwich Bag

CR’s take: The leak- and stain-resistant silicone W&P Porter Sandwich Bags take up little storage space and provide the best vacuum seal for sous vide and freezer storage. The seals are easy to open and close, too. We loved that they can be turned inside out for easy washing. The collection also has stand-up bags with a flat base to keep everything upright.

For Your Eyes and Ears

Samsung QN50LS03A

CR’s take: This 50-inch 4K UHD smart TV from Samsung is dubbed The Frame. With its flush wall mounting and a picture-frame bezel, it looks like a piece of art but also delivers top-notch picture quality. Included in the set is a curated selection of art that can be displayed when you’re not watching the Barbie movie on repeat. (You can also display your own art and photos via a USB drive.) Optional bezels are sold separately in different colors, too, but the pink bezel only fits the 32-inch model.

Google Chromecast with Google TV

CR’s take: The Google Chromecast with Google TV is a 4K streaming device that supports HDR10, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision HDR formats. It comes with a voice remote with Google Assistant, the company’s voice-powered digital assistant, so once the Barbie movie is available for streaming, you’ll have Ryan Gosling on demand.

Apple AirPods Max Wireless Over-Ear Headphones

CR’s take: Apple AirPods Max Headphones deliver high-quality sound, their noise cancellation is as good as it gets, and they come with a variety of appealing features, including transparency mode—to route in outside sound—and Spatial Audio. Could you spend hundreds less on several models that get better scores, including the Sennheiser PXC 550-II and Bose QuietComfort 35 Series II? Sure. But that pink, though.

JBL Flip 5 Wireless & Bluetooth Speaker

CR’s take: The JBL Flip 5 is a great portable Bluetooth speaker for use at home and on the go. Pool party, anyone? No worries about splashes, since the speaker’s water-resistance rating means that it can survive a dunking. The classic cylindrical design takes up relatively little space in a beach bag, the battery has a claimed life of up to 12 hours, and our testers report that the Flip 5 sounds good and plays quite loud. If you want a personalized pink (like a more classic Barbie pink), you can order a custom version from JBL.com.

Apple 24-inch iMac (M1 Chip) Desktop Computer

CR’s take: The Apple iMac is a sleek all-in-one desktop computer. In our lab tests, it proved to run fast (even without any legs), which earned it a Very Good score for performance. It also features a bright beautiful display with wide viewing angles and admirable color accuracy—inside and out. The keyboard and mouse match the computer’s shell: pink, pink, and pink!

Canon Pixma TS5320

CR’s take: Most printers are black and boring. Not the Canon Pixma TS5320. It’s a relatively inexpensive all-in-one inkjet printer that scores Very Good ratings in our lab tests for printing text and graphics, but photos are a challenge. The Canon comes in pink (teal is an option, too) so you’ll never want to hide it away. But don’t go printing the Internet, either. Ink will cost about $83 per year for typical use, which is better than some ink guzzlers in our ratings, but it’s not exactly a sipper, either. The Pixma TS5320 is a stylish option if you don’t print that often and just need the occasional return label or tax form.

Right now, the pink Canon Pixma TS5320 is sold out in most places and selling on Amazon for a nearly 600-percent markup (so you may want to bookmark and come back to it if you can wait).

For Fitness

Adidas Don't Rest Alphaskin Bra

CR’s take: The Adidas Women’s Don’t Rest Alphaskin is a retro-style sports bra with a wide range of fun, vibrant colors, including an attention-grabbing “team real magenta.” The compression racerback is made with a thin, loosely knit material that’s ultra-breathable. Our testers just recommend sizing up as the model runs small.

Adidas Adicolor Essentials Trefoil Hoodie

CR’s take: This Adidas Adicolor Essentials Trefoil Hoodie would fit in equally at the gym and on the street . . . and on the couch. The luxuriously soft and plush inside will feel like a warm hug when you throw it on. The fabric hangs nicely and while the ribbed parts aren’t constricting, they’re tight enough to hug your hips and keep excess sleeve fabric above the wrists. The cut is a little more body-conscious and less bulky than the others so size up if you want a baggier look.

Apple Watch SE

CR’s take: In Consumer Reports’ smartwatch testing, the Apple Watch SE received some of the highest marks possible for essential functions like heart-rate tracking and step counting. It’s also very easy to pair, interact with, and connect to a charger. For our Barbiecore combo shown here, choose the silver aluminum case with the flamingo braided solo loop strap.

For Keep the Dreamhouse Sparkling

Shark Rocket Pet Pro IZ162H

CR’s take: The cordless Shark Rocket Pet Pro Stick Vac performs well all-around in CR tests, cleaning both carpets and bare floors well. Testers especially like that the roller has a mechanism that prevents hair from wrapping around the brush roll. Another plus is that the lithium-ion battery is replaceable.

Ugg Fluff Yeah Slides

CR’s take: One of the easiest ways to keep your dreamhouse clean is to take off your shoes when you come home. Slipping into these cushy, hot-pink sheepskin Ugg Fluff Yeah Slides is all the incentive we need! Our evaluators love the style but also the construction: A solid, stable platform paired with a luxuriously fluffy upper.

Crocs Classic Lined Clog

CR’s take: If you’re a more practical-minded slipper wearer, you’ll like the Crocs Classic Lined Clog. They’re so ugly, they’re chic, especially in “fuchsia fun.” More important, they’re extremely comfortable with a stable, secure fit and thick, textured sole that doesn’t slip.

Blueair Blue Pure 211+ Air Purifier

CR’s take: The Blueair Blue Pure 211+ is one of only four portable air purifiers in our ratings that receives an Excellent rating for particle removal at both high- and low-speed settings in our lab tests. Plus, it has a machine-washable fabric prefilter for capturing larger particles (like pet hair) that can prolong the life of the main filter. The machine comes with a gray and a blue prefilter but you can buy various other colors (crystal pink, anyone?) for bolder outfit changes ($7.99+ each).

For the Mane

Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer

CR’s take: The Dyson Supersonic lives up to its status as a luxury product. In our lab tests, it earns top scores for drying speed and is one of the quietest of the models we tested. Plus, it comes with five attachments: A diffuser, styling concentrator (essential for Barbie bangs), a gentle air attachment, a flyaway attachment, and a wide-tooth comb. All attach easily to the nozzle via a magnet and store neatly in a case that also houses the hair dryer.

For When You’ve Gotta Go (Make 'Em Watch You Leave)

Bontrager Specter WaveCel Bike Helmet

CR’s take: Bontrager’s Specter WaveCel road-bike helmet is rated Excellent for impact absorption and Excellent for ease of use. As if the notice-me “vice pink” color weren’t enough, the helmet’s reflective panels provide for even greater visibility in low light. And the manufacturer will replace your helmet if you get into an accident.

Electra Townie GO! 7D Electric Bike

CR’s take: Okay, this is the only thing on our list that isn’t pink, but there’s no denying that teal (technically Tahiti blue here) isn’t also on brand for Barbie. We think it goes so well with the pink Bontrager helmet above. In our lab tests, the Electra Townie GO! 7D scored Very Good ratings for hill climbs, acceleration, and cruising. It’s also comfortable—and fun!—to ride, and the electric assist will keep you looking your best as you cruise around town.

Away The Carry-On

CR’s take: This basic, hard-shell carry-on by Away earns an Excellent score for impact resistance and Very Good for construction quality. Away is also a top brand for carry-on luggage based on our CR member survey. The bag’s special features include a compartment divider, leather luggage tag, and laundry bag. It has an unusually generous limited lifetime warranty and, like a mattress, a 100-day trial period so you can see how you like it on the road. The bag shown is the petal color, but it also comes in eight other hues.

Away The Everything Bag

CR’s take: For quick jaunts or work trips, you might want to opt for a weekender instead of luggage. Of course, The Everything Bag by Away has a trolley sleeve to slip on over your wheeled luggage’s handle, too, if you need to take both. The water-resistant leather can take a beating and the interior has a laptop sleeve, key leash, and a zippered pocket. This duffel, being on the smaller side, could do double duty as a large work bag or even a diaper bag.

Porsche 718 Boxster (2022)

CR’s take: A few names come to mind when we think of pink cars: Barbie. Angelyne. Mary Kay. Now you can add Porsche to that list. The spectacular Porsche 718 Boxster is now available in a dusty rose called “Frozen Berry” that the automaker says is inspired by ice cream. You can also use Porsche’s Paint-to-Sample program to get it in Ruby Star (shown), a magenta-like hue that was last offered on the 928 in 1995. No matter what color you choose, this agile two-seater is a true sports car that you can still live with every day. It goes from 0-to-60 in 4.4 seconds, baby! And takes just 10 seconds for its convertible top to open and show off your fabulous mane. On top of that, it’s CR Recommended.
