The weekend is upon us, do you know what you're eating?

Fall River Eats brings you a weekly roundup of new menu items, food events, and specials popping up all over the area. Here’s a quick look at what’s being served up across the SouthCoast this week:

Oktoberfest fun at Canned Heat

Mark your calendars: Canned Heat's festival weekend is here. Head down to the Fall River waterfront for some Oktoberfest fun, starting with Taps and Tapas, an Oktoberfest beer dinner, on Saturday, Oct. 28, followed up with Fest on Ferry, a community beer festival, on Sunday, Oct. 29. Saturday's Oktoberfest dinner starts at 7 p.m., and features five courses paired with a selection of traditional and craft beers. Diners can immerse themselves in the flavors of Bavaria as they enjoy the festive atmosphere that includes live entertainment. Dinner tickets are $65. And don't forget to grab your passport to the inaugural Fest on Ferry, slated for Sunday from noon to 6:30 p.m. Your $20 ticket serves as your passport for a five-ounce pour of beer from each of the nine participating breweries. There will also be food trucks and live music on hand. The passport is $25 the day of the event. Breweries include Canned Heat, Berkley Beer Company, Rejects Beer Co., Pivotal Brewing Company, Crue Brew Brewery, Strong Side Brewing, Start Line Brewing, Troy City Brewing, and Brockton Beer Company. Canned Heat Craft Beer Co. is located at 52 Ferry St., Fall River.

Kids Halloween Party at Lees

It'll be a scary good time at Lees Market this Saturday. While mom and dad stock up on some Halloween treats, the kiddos can come check out the Westport store's Kid's Club Halloween Party on Oct. 28, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There, spooky fans young and old can unleash their creativity making a haunted pirate ship, Halloween charm bracelet, Halloween tote bag, or painting a pumpkin piggy bank. Snacks and drinks will be provided. This event is free, just drop in. No registration is required.

Fall specials are on the menu

Ready to save some money? Head over to Village Pizza and Ice Cream where there are fall specials you don’t want to miss. Every Tuesday through Thursday you can have the Lobster Roll Special with a lobster roll on garlic bread with fries or onion rings for $22.50; or visit between 4 to 6 p.m. for Ice Cream Happy Hour and get $2 off your order. Tuesdays and Wednesdays are great days for pizza with two large cheese pizzas for $28 or two large one-topping pizzas for $28. Check out the other great deals at 760 Main Road, South Westport.

Smashing good grub

Hit up Missing Link BBQ's Smash Session every Wednesday starting at 4 p.m. The menu highlights different tasty smash burgers each week, so there is always something different to try. To get a taste of what you can expect, this week's smash session featured the Bigfoot Burger (two housemade brisket burger patties, lettuce, onions, pickles, American cheese, bacon, sesame seeds and "squatch sauce" on a grilled potato roll); the Brunch Burger (single patty, American cheese, house brined and smoked ham, fried egg, shreds, and Carolina BBQ sauce on a grilled bolo); and the Burnt Ends Burger (single patty, American cheese, bacon, chopped brisket glazed and cooked in Texas BBQ sauce, chopped onion, lettuce and pickles on a grilled potato roll). What's cooking at the Grille

Somerset Grille is cooking up some tasty daily specials this Friday, with a little something to please everyone's palate. Menu highlights include bourbon turkey tips ($12.49), two 6 ounce boneless pork chops with sweet chili glaze ($11.99), Portuguese steak plate ($14.99), 6-ounce grilled salmon with orange ginger glaze ($14.49), lasagna ($9.49), shrimp Mozambique ($14.49), haddock Mozambique ($14.49), chicken chow mein sandwich ($6.49) or plate ($7.49), salisbury steak ($8.49), and fried smelts ($11.49). A 14 ounce prime rib and clamboil are also available until 2 p.m. Stop by the 3015 County St. restaurant.

Perfect autumn weekend ahead

It’s the last weekend to enjoy the 6-acre corn maze at Buzzards Bay Brewing, making the perfect weekend for getting lost in the maze, having a brew, and eating delicious BBQ while listening to tunes. BBQ Y Mas will be there on Oct. 27, 28, and 29 dishing out BBQ with a Salvadoran twist. The truck features a Latin Flare with different smoked meats and accouterments to tempt your taste buds. Roots Run Wild will be there on Saturday, Oct. 28 from 4:40 to 6:30 p.m. for your listening pleasure. Enjoy the fall vibes at 98 Horseneck Road, Westport.

New menu alert

There’s a new menu at Joe's Original Kitchen + Bar with items like the Butternut Squash Flatbread, pecan-sage pesto, balsamic, brussels sprouts, smoked mozz, and caramelized onions for $13; The Chicken Marsala, pan-seared chicken and roasted mushrooms in a classic marsala sauce, with fettuccine for $21; and Dirty Banana Portuguese sweet bread, banana and chocolate, soaked in cinnamon custard, served warm with vanilla ice cream and caramel drizzle for $12. Thanksgiving food drive

While indulging in delicious local fare is always fun, sometimes sharing that bounty can feel even better. Looking for a way to give back as this holiday season approaches? Cafua Management LLC is calling on local residents to donate to their Thanksgiving Food Drive to help the community. Donations can be dropped off Oct. 30 through Nov. 18 at 325 Elsbree St., Fall River.
