Craft, Tolland girls stay hot

Sep. 23—Cali-Dean Craft got off to a hot start in her sophomore season with the Tolland High girls soccer team, scoring twice in the season opener Sept. 8.

Since then, she's shown no signs of slowing down.

Craft continued her hot run of play Thursday afternoon, scoring twice to lead the visiting Eagles to a 6-0 win over East Hartford in CCC East play.

The sophomore has now scored in all five games she's played this season for the Eagles (5-0-0).

Four of those games have seen Craft score multiple times, including recording a hat trick against Bristol Eastern Sept. 15. Craft has 10 goals so far.

While Craft has provided plenty of highlights, the Eagles collectively have dominated so far in the young season.

Tolland is outscoring its opponents 28-2 over five games, and Thursday's shutout was its third of the year.

Audrey Cadman opened the scoring for Tolland 11 minutes into the game. Maria Cayward and Mackenzie Wood added first half goals.

Sophomore Samantha Lash made it 4-0 before Craft scored the final two goals of the game. Goalie Ella Santini made two saves.

Both teams are back in action Tuesday Tolland welcomes Manchester while East Hartford heads to Storrs to play E.O. Smith.

MANCHESTER 0, E.O. SMITH 0. Nina Montague made nine saves as host Manchester settled for a tie with E.O. Smith in CCC East play.
