From crafts and games to kiosk prep and movies, Loudonville library September is full

The following are events and activities will be held at the Loudonville Public Library in September.

September is Library Card Sign-Up Month. Come to the library and see all the materials and services that are available to use for free. Everyone who gets a new library card will receive a gift, Already a library card holder? Complete the word search puzzle about library services and sign up for a prize drawing.

Friends of the Library Sidewalk Book Sale: Saturday, Sept. 2, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Stop by the book sale while you are enjoying Labor Day festivities. Come early for the best selection.

Friends of the Library Meeting, 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5 at 2 p.m. Michelle Buckley will present the program Trash to Treasures. This meeting is open to all.

Learn to use the Perrysville Branch Kiosk, 11 a.m.-noon Tuesdays, Sept. 5, 12 and 19; 5:30-6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27.; 10-11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 30. Visit the 24-hour kiosk to sign up for a library card and/or learn how to use it. Since September is Library Card Sign-Up Month, anyone who comes to the kiosk during the visits will receive a gift. The kiosk is accessible from the parking lot of the Perrysville Fire Station. Scheduled times will be cancelled during inclement weather or if the library is closed.

After School Movie: Tuesday, Sept. 5, 3:30 p.m. Children and teens can enjoy a movie after school. There will be snacks. Watch "Rise of Gru" (PG) and enjoy snow cones.

Storytime: Tuesdays, Sept. 5, 12, 19 and 26 at 10 a.m. Storytimes are designed to engage 2-5 year-olds with stories, songs, fingerplays, and weekly crafts. Caregivers need to be present and younger siblings of participants are encouraged to attend as well.

Nailed It! – Minion Cupcake: Thursday, Sept. 7, 3:30-4:30 p.m. Join for the library edition of this popular Netflix show. Teens will work in teams to recreate Pinterest-worthy creations. We provide the supplies; you bring the creativity! Limited to 12 spots. Sign-up is required. Grades 6-12.

After School Bingo: Tuesday, Sept. 12, 3:30 p.m. Children and teens can compete against each other in some old-fashioned bingo. Two prizes are given each month.

Pinterest Power – Paper Flower Wreath: Tuesday, Sept. 12, 6:30 p.m. ,or Wednesday, Sept. 13, 10:30 a.m. Adults will make a fall-colored paper flower grapevine wreath. Sign-up is required. A sample will be on display in the library and posted on our Facebook page.

Madden Tournament: Thursday, Sept. 14, 3:30-5 p.m. Celebrate National Video Game Day (Sept. 12) by playing in a single-elimination tournament. Snacks and prizes for the winning team will be provided. Limited to four teams of two. Sign-up is required. Grades 6-12.

Adult Book Discussion: Friday, Sept. 15, 11 a.m. This month’s book is "The Great Alone" by Kristin Hannah. Pick up a book at the circulation desk. Meet in the Golden Center.

Perler Bead Club: Tuesday, Sept. 19, 3:30-4:30 p.m. Each month there will be new designs. Limited to 12 spots. Sign-up is required. Grades 1-8.

Treat Yourself: Fall Edition, Thursday, Sept. 21, 3:30-4:30 p.m. De-stress by making some fall-scented sensory dough and take part in our seasonal apple tasting. Limited to 12 spots. Sign-up is required. Grades 6-12.

Bluey Party: Saturday, Sept. 23 10-11 a.m. Wackadoo! It’s a party! A Bluey party! Join us for all the things that we love about that adorable Heeler family. There will be games, crafts, snacks, and a very special appearance.

Glow Party: Tuesday, Sept. 26, 3:30-4:30 p.m. Join for games, art, music and snacks. Wear neon, white or glow in the dark clothes. Grades 1-8. Sign-up is required.

Superhero Showdown: Thursday, Sept. 28, 3:30-4:30 p.m. Come celebrate National Comic Book Day (Sept. 25) by creating comic-inspired buttons, while you enjoy snacks and DC/Marvel trivia. Sign-up is required. Grades 6-12.

Nerf Night: Friday, Sept. 29, 5:30-7 p.m. Any 4th-8th grader is invited to attend the after-hours Nerf Night. Sign-up and permission slips are required. Take Nerf gear.
