No injuries reported in four-vehicle crash in Ravenna Township Wednesday morning

A Portage County Board of Developmental Disabilities bus and a semi tractor-traailer were involved in a four-vehicle crash on state Route 14 in Ravenna Township Wednesday morning, but no injuries were reported, said Trooper Jose Reyes of the Ohio State Highway Patrol's Ravenna post.

Reyes said the crash was reported after the westbound semi pulling an empty trailer struck the rear of a pickup truck between state Route 44 and Infirmary Road at around 8:40 a.m. The pickup was puched into the back of the bus, which was pushed into the rear of a vehicle in front of it.

EMS evaluated those involved at the scene, including the bus' male driver and its two passengers, a woman and a 15-year-old girl, but there were no injuries, said Reyes.

He said the bus sustained rear damage, but was drivable. The semi and the pickup, however, were not drivable and the road's westbound side was closed until around 11:20 a.m., after they could be removed, said Reyes. The unknown vehicle the bus struck quickly left the scene , said Reyes.

The semi's driver, an Illinois man in his late 50s, was cited with assured clear distance ahead, he said.
