Crash damages Augusta Health building in Fishersville

FISHERSVILLE — A driver behind the wheel of an SUV crashed into a building late Thursday morning on North Medical Park Drive, across the street from Augusta Health in Fishersville, damaging the structure.

A hospital spokesperson said no injuries were reported.

The incident took place at Augusta Health's Internal Medicine building when the driver accelerated, crashing a Subaru Forester into the corner of the building, according to Kristin Printy, a spokesperson for Augusta Health.

Printy said the crash took place just minutes before noon.

The crash heavily damaged a wall, which adjoins a doctor's office. Printy said the doctor was not seeing patients at the time.

The Internal Medicine building remained open and patients were still being seen Thursday, Printy said.

The building is being assessed for structural damage. No injuries were reported, she said.

Virginia State Police, Augusta County Fire-Rescue and hospital security responded to the scene.
