Crash involving bus with 16 passengers on I-664, no injuries

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — A crash involving a bus on Feb. 23 caused delays on I-664 in Newport News.

WAVY sent a traffic push alert to mobile devices alerting of the delays in the morning.

The two-vehicle crash involved an HRT bus and Chevrolet Malibu. The bus had 16 passengers, but nobody was injured. The Malibu veered to the left to avoid stopped traffic and was sideswiped by the HRT bus that was traveling right of way in the lane, police said.

The driver of the Malibu was charged with failure to obey highway markings.
