Hyun Bin and Son Ye-Jin, from Netflix's popular K-drama Crash Landing On You, have announced that they're getting married.

Hyun Bin released a statement through his agency VAST Entertainment's Instagram account, saying: "I wanted to let my fans, who have shown me such enormous support and love and cherished me despite my flaws, know first about this most important decision of my life."

"I have made the important decision of marriage and am cautiously taking steps toward the second stage of my life."

"I have made this promise with the woman who always makes me laugh (Son Ye Jin): to always walk together in the days that lie ahead," he said.

His new fiancée posted a similar statement to her Instagram account, writing: "Boy meets girl, recognises each other in the crowd, promises to build a future together… I couldn’t imagine!"

"I have a person that I want to spend the rest of my life with. Just being with him, I feel warm and protected. Please help us celebrate the beginning of our future."

She added: "Thank you to everything that turned our relationship into destiny. Everyone, please congratulate the future that we’re going to make together."

Son Ye-Jin also thanked her fans for their support and "unconditional love" as well as wishing happiness to them all.

The couple were friends for many years before they appeared together for the first time in Crash Landing On You.

Their agencies also confirmed the engagement, saying that Hyun Bin and Son Ye-Jin are holding their wedding in Seoul in March.

As a result of Covid-19, it will be a quiet, private ceremony with their respective parents and close friends.
