UPDATE: Crash on U.S. 45 near Thomasboro claims life of pedestrian

Mar. 6—THOAMSBORO — A pickup struck and killed a pedestrian who was changing a tire just before 5 p.m. Monday along U.S. 45 near Thomasboro.

According to Illinois State Police, the pedestrian was taken to an area hospital and pronounced dead.

The driver of the pickup was also taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Northbound U.S. 45 remained closed as investigators worked the scene of the accident, with traffic being detoured at County Road 2300 North.
