Attica woman airlifted from scene in Shadeland

SHADELAND, Ind. — Reannon Meador of Attica was flown by air ambulance Tuesday morning from the scene of a two-vehicle crash on Indiana 25 near Tippecanoe County Road 275 West, according to Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Office.

Meador, 39, drove eastbound in her Toyota Avalon and crossed the center line about 8:35 a.m. Tuesday, according to the sheriff's office. Her car struck a westbound Jeep Compass head-on.

Witnesses told police that Meador's car was seen swerving in her lane and crossing the center line shortly before the crash, according to the sheriff's office.

Rescue crews extricated Meador from the wreckage while IU Health Lifeline helicopter was en route. She was flown from the scene to IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, where she is in critical condition, according to the sheriff's office.

Diana Sheely, 67, of Attica, was the driver of the Jeep. She was taken to IU Health Arnett hospital in Lafayette and later airlifted to an Indianapolis hospital for treatment, according to the sheriff's office.

Indiana 25 in the area of the crash was closed for several hours while deputies investigated the accident. The road opened up shortly before noon.
