Despite a series of strange spring storms sweeping through the Mohawk Valley, summer is just around the corner, bringing sunshine, warm weather and — you guessed it — ice cream.

With that in mind, we've brought back our list of local places to get your favorite chilled treats, complete with a map to help you find every ice cream spot from Cooperstown to Boonville.

The rules for this list: the ice cream spot must be locally owned (sorry, Byrne Dairy and Stewart's Shops) and must have a window to serve from in the summer months.

Some of the locations we've rounded up already have been serving ice cream for months, while others still are preparing to open for the season. Check the information below for opening dates, as well as hours of operation, addresses and websites or Facebook pages.
