Learn how to cook sushi with Chef Ross Young

Take the En Bon Creative Cooking Class (Sushi) with Chef Ross Young at  Yozakura Sushi, 466 Brock Ave., New Bedford. Hosted by the New Bedford Fishing Heritage Center, Chef Young will teach the tricks for cooked and raw sushi dishes through some hands-on and demonstrative teaching. The class will be held from 6 to 8 pm Wednesday, April 5, with tickets costing $50 for the general public, $40 for FHC members and can be purchased at https://bit.ly/FHC-cookingclass-young.  If the class is full, email programs@fishingheritagecenter.org to be placed on a waiting list.

Fresh pupusas, anyone?

Feeling like some good old comfort food? Freestones at 41 William St., New Bedford has added some new dishes sure to fit the bill. The Traditional Turkey Dinner which is herb roasted turkey breast, Portuguese style stuffing with clams, chouriço and more, garlic mashed potatoes, and broccoli served with cranberry chutney and house brown gravy for $23.99; or the Homemade Meatloaf topped with bacon gravy served with mashed potatoes and roasted broccoli for $22.99.
