Crawford County restaurant inspections: June & July critical violations

The following restaurant inspections with critical violations were conducted by Crawford County Public Health in June and July:

The Wandering Lily Diner, 819 E. Main St., Crestline, June 1. Mechanical dishwasher not properly dispensing at 50-100 ppm (critical). Owner will use three-bin sink to sanitize until unit has been repaired. Ensure test strips are available to regularly monitor concentration. Correct by June 6.

Creamery at Buckeye Beach, 3933 Hensing Road, Bucyrus, June 1. Refrigerated, ready-to-eat, potentially hazardous foods (hot dogs) not properly date marked (critical, corrected during inspection). Ensure foods are date marked and discarded within 7 days.

Northside Fuel Stop LLC, 1505 N. Sandusky Ave., Bucyrus, June 7. Food employee did not wash or sanitize hands before putting on gloves to serve food after working cash register (critical, corrected during inspection).

Freezer Fresh, 820 W. Main St., Crestline, July 6. Potentially hazardous food not being hot/cold held at the proper temperature (critical, corrected during inspection). Once French fries are fried, they must be either placed in hot or cold holding before frying again (twice fried French fries). Operator placed in cold holding.

Subway (Crestline), 137 E. Main St., Crestline, July 12. Time/temperature controlled for safety food - cold holding (critical). Walk-in-cooler temps are reading high (internal temperatures 45 degrees). If temps go above 45, remove food from this cooler and relocate to prep coolers until repaired or adjusted. Correct by July 14.

Hideaway B & B Inn LLC, 1601 Ohio 4, Bucyrus, July 13. Mechanical dishwasher was not properly sanitizing at 50-100 ppm (critical). Three-bin sink must be used until dishwasher has been repaired. Correct by July 20.

Domino's Pizza, 420 N. Seltzer St., Crestline, July 19. Time/temperature controlled for safety food - cold holding (critical). Temperatures in prep cooler beside hand sink are reading high (45 degrees). Cooler needs repaired/adjusted. If temps go above 45, food will need to be removed and placed in another cooler unless ice is placed surrounding food. Monitor temps until repaired. Correct by July 21.

Hideaway B & B Inn LLC, 1601 Ohio 4, Bucyrus, July 20. Mechanical dishwasher was not properly sanitizing at 50-100 ppm (critical repeat). Three-bin sink must be used until dishwasher has been repaired. Correct by July 20.

7-Eleven #36176A, 101 E. Main St., Crestline, July 24. Poisonous or toxic materials: Working containers - common name (critical, corrected during inspection). Working containers of cleaning agents not properly labeled.

Twin Lakes LLC dba Valley View Golf Course, 2106 Ohio 598, Galion, July 25. Using a handwashing sink - other uses prohibited (critical, corrected during inspection). Observed utensils in hand sink.

Quality Inn, 1515 N. Sandusky Ave., Bucyrus, July 27. Poisonous or toxic materials — storage, separation (critical, corrected during inspection). Observed cleaning agents stored beside packages of waffle mix. Ensure proper separation of cleaning agents/supplies from food, food equipment and utensils.
