Cream Of Wheaton Fest To Come Back After 2-Year COVID-19 Hiatus

WHEATON, IL — It may be the dead of winter, but there's something to look forward to this June: the return of the Cream of Wheaton Festival. The beloved fest had been canceled in 2019 and 2020 due to coronavirus concerns.

This year's Cream of Wheaton will be held June 2 through June 5 and will feature carnival rides, live entertainment, a petting zoo, an art fair and food vendors at Memorial Park.

"The Wheaton Park District is looking forward to bringing back the event programming that the community has come to enjoy," park district executive director Mike Benard said in a statement.

Benard added, "The 2022 event will, once again, feature an arts and craft fair, carnival, business expo, the Cosley Zoo Run for the Animals, a variety of food vendors and live entertainment from the new band shell in Memorial Park."

The first Cream of Wheaton Festival was held in 1982. In 1983, the festival added a petting zoo with the help of Cosley Zoo, along with carnival rides and games and an arts and crafts fair.
