- State lawmakers have now introduced new legislation to increase racial equity in the weed game.

EDIE MOORE: People's lives who have been affected by the war on drugs and mass incarceration and over-policing should not have to wait any longer.

- Earlier this week, we told you how minority owners have been denied licenses to open dispensaries. Now, Representative La Shawn Ford has introduced an Amendment that will create more than 100 new pot shop licenses and change the rules so that minorities have a fair shot at winning them in a lottery process.

Illinois has passed $1 billion in total sales of recreational weed since it became legal in 2019.
