New credit union branch opening in Tacoma area with ATM, Saturday hours, other services

WSECU recently announced a new Tacoma branch will be opening in the James Center commercial area in mid-June.

The anticipated opening date is June 12, but a supply-chain issue might delay the final building inspection, said spokesperson Morgan Huether.

The credit union will be at 6909 S. 19th St. near the Fred Meyer Marketplace. The 2,760-square-foot building will be WSECU’s 24th branch and third in Pierce County. WSECU also has branches in Lakewood and Puyallup, as well as another branch in Federal Way, according to a company news release.

The branch will feature a walk-up ATM and night depository, as well as two service stations inside. WSECU will have consultation services, space for members to meet with the credit union team, mortgage loan officers and Shared Branching services available. WSECU previously had a branch in downtown Tacoma in the early 2000s.

Branch hours will be 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
