Crestline man dies, passenger seriously injured in one-vehicle crash

FREDERICKTOWN — A 44-year-old Crestline man was killed and another resident was seriously injured in a one-vehicle crash Tuesday night.

The crash happened at 9:36 p.m. on Ohio 13 in Morris Township, Knox County, according to the Ohio Highway Patrol's Mount Gilead post.

Timothy D. Moyer was driving a 2009 Honda Civic northbound on Ohio 13 when he drove off the right side of the road and struck a utility pole, the post reported.Moyer was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel. He was not wearing a seat belt, the post reported.

A passenger in the vehicle, Nicole A. Lambert, 36, also of Crestline, suffered life-threatening injuries and was flown by medical helicopter to Grant Medical Center in Columbus. An update on her condition was not available Wednesday morning.

Assisting the highway patrol at the scene were the Knox County Sheriff's Office, the Fredericktown Police Department, Fredericktown Fire and EMS, Mount Vernon Fire and EMS and Air Evac.

The crash remains under investigation by the Mount Gilead post of the highway patrol.
