Crestview woman critically injured after being ejected from car in rollover crash on CR 393

CRESTVIEW — A 55-year-old Crestview woman was critically injured after being ejected from a vehicle in a rollover crash on County Road 393 Friday morning.

The crash happened around 10:30 a.m. on County Road 393, south of the Shoal River Bridge in Crestview, according to a report by the Florida Highway Patrol.

The woman was traveling southbound in a white Chevy Tahoe when she reportedly veered off the roadway. She then overcorrected and caused the Tahoe to overturn.

According to the FHP, she was not wearing a seatbelt at the time and was thrown from the vehicle.

The woman was flown to the Fort Walton Beach Medical Center where her family was notified. In a Facebook post, the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office said the woman was "conscious and alert" before she was taken to the hospital.

The FHP investigation is ongoing.
