Crews battle Golden Meadow house fire
An unattended fire pit ignited a blaze that damaged a house in Golden Meadow early Tuesday morning, authorities said.
Lafourche Fire District 3 in Galliano was called out around 2:30 a.m. to a structure fire on West 225th Street in Golden Meadow.
Once on the scene, fire crews brought the blaze under control in about eight minutes. One person suffered minor burns but refused medical treatment at the scene, officials said.
The fire started on the porch and was caused by an unattended fire pit, authorities said.
