Crews battle large fire in Modesto

Crews battled a large fire in Modesto on Sunday, according to Stanislaus Consolidated Fire. At least three different warehouses near Bunker Avenue were damaged by the fire, officials said. Advertisement The blaze sparked in an almond bin around 1:30 p.m. Officials said almonds are considered highly flammable. A firefighter was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for heat exhaustion. Officials said the firefighter is expected to be OK. Several agencies from around the county responded to the blaze.
