Lufkin water line break repaired, water pressure to return soon

UPDATE: According to the City of Lufkin, the water line break has been repaired as of 4 p.m. and water pressure should be returning soon.

LUFKIN, Texas (KETK) – City crews are on the scene of a water line break Friday morning in Lufkin.

The break happened in the front of Hobby Lobby near the intersection of Whitehouse Drive and U.S. 59 South, and officials said service is expected to be restored later in the day “possibly by this afternoon barring any unexpected issues.”

According to the city, water service will be interrupted on Brentwood Drive from Whitehouse to Champions Drive, and on Whitehouse Drive from U.S. 59 to Oak Hollow Drive while the Walmart side of Whitehouse Drive is unaffected.

“If you plan on visiting the nearby businesses or restaurants today, you may call ahead to ensure they are open,” officials said in a release.
