Crews work to shore up levees along San Joaquin River in Stanislaus County

Stanislaus County crews are working to shore up levees along the San Joaquin River. The county said there has been a small breach on the levee north of Las Palmas Avenue and east of Patterson. The breach does not pose a threat to any homes or businesses and is contained by another levee. Crews are also on the lookout for levee boils, which is when water seeps under a levee and then bubbles up on the surface. That could lead to bigger problems with the levee’s integrity if unaddressed.
