Crews start transporting concrete pieces to fix Hwy. 99

A major construction project is about to begin. Caltrans is closing Hwy. 99 from 47th Avenue to the Hwy. 50 Connector in Sacramento. "Today’s the big game," said Angela DaPrato, who works for Caltrans. On Friday, giant trucks moved concrete girders from Lathrop, where they were made, to Stockton. Beginning around 1 a.m. on Saturday, crews will drive those girders up Hwy. 99 to Sacramento, where they'll be used to replace the bridge deck over 21st Avenue. See more in the video above.
