10 displaced after two homes catch fire in Lynn

Ten people were forced from their homes after two homes caught fire in Lynn Friday afternoon.

The Lynn Fire Department says the fire began after two vehicles in a driveway on Chestnut Street caught on fire. The blaze then spread to the wood-frame buildings at 103 and 109 Chestnut Street around 1:00 p.m.

Large flames and smoke could be seen pouring out of the enflamed homes.

No one was hurt during the fire but emotions welled to the surface. Neighbors consoled each other as the houses burned. The Salvation Army is assisting the displaced families.

Fire Engines from Saugus and Swampscott were also called in to help.
