Crime of the Week: Man in 'W' cap sought in armed store robbery in Socorro

Socorro police are trying to identify a man who robbed a Circle K convenience store at gunpoint last month.

The robbery occurred soon after 3:30 a.m. on April 12 at the Circle K at 10790 North Loop Drive next to Horizon Boulevard. The unsolved case is Crime Stoppers of El Paso's Crime of the Week.

The man was seen putting on a cloth mask near the gas pumps before entering the store, pulling out a handgun and demanding and stealing an undisclosed amount of cash, Crime Stoppers said.

The man is about 5 feet 6 inches tall with a thin build and tattoos on both arms, including a tattoo sleeve on his left arm, and might be bald, Crime Stoppers said.

The robber was wearing a red baseball cap with a script "W" of the Washington Nationals baseball team, sunglasses, a gray polo-style shirt, gray pants with a black belt that was halfway down his butt and white shoes with black laces, according to security camera video.

The robbery suspect might have been in a red, older model four-door car similar to a Nissan Sentra or Toyota Corolla S, Crime Stoppers said.
