The 'Criminal Minds' Series Finale Is Coming in February So Stock Up on Tissues Now

From Country Living

The BAU is back! Almost.

After months of being off the air—and leaving us with that J.J./Reid cliffhanger we can’t stop thinking about—Criminal Minds has finally blessed us with a return date. CBS announced that the final season of Criminal Minds will return on Wednesday, January 8 at 9 p.m. EST.

The big day was announced on the show’s social media account with the caption, “Wheels up one last time.” >sobs quietly.<

The good news is that it’s back on its original night with a two-hour premiere. The very, very bad news is that it will end shortly later with another two-hour series finale on February 19. SEAL Team will then resume on Wednesday nights starting on February 26.

You may be thinking: Wait, weren’t we promised 10 episodes? We were, but since we’re seeing a two-hour premiere and finale, that means we’re losing two weeks from the timeline. That still only accounts for 9 hours, so perhaps there will be another two-hour block at some point throughout the season.

We’re heartbroken that Criminal Minds is coming to an end, but we have high hopes for the final installments. We’d love to see Shemar Moore back as our favorite Babygirl-calling Morgan. Some fans are also hoping Thomas Gibson’s Hotch makes an appearance, but since he left on some uncertain terms we’re not sure if that will happen.

No matter what, any new Criminal Minds is good Criminal Minds. We just wish it could stay forever!
