Crimora shooting victim dies from injuries, sheriff's office says investigation ongoing

VERONA — A man shot earlier this week in Crimora has died, the Augusta County Sheriff's Office said in a press release.

On Thursday, the sheriff's office identified the victim as 58-year-old Sidney R. Woodard of Crimora. He was shot in the head Tuesday night on Haywood Drive in Crimora.

Sheriff Donald Smith said the shooting was "an isolated incident between family members."

Woodard died Wednesday. His body was taken to the Office of the Medical Examiner in Roanoke for an autopsy, according to the sheriff's office.

No charges have been filed.
