Snow is coming, and lots of it.
For days New England has been watching to see what track a powerful nor'easter would take — one that shifts a brunt of the bad weather over the Atlantic, or a more westerly path that puts millions along the East Coast in the firing line of potentially record-setting snow totals, hurricane-force winds and possible coastal flooding.
Now, less than 24 hours away from the storm's arrival, forecasters are saying to brace for the worst.
Coastal communities could see more than a foot of snow, howling winds and blizzard conditions on Saturday.

South Shore: Braces for more than 2 feet of snow, strong winds for 'all day' Saturday storm
How much snow will fall?
This is perhaps the highest snowfall potential totals map I have ever made. Banding most likely over southeastern MA, but could occur anywhere in the highest zone. Most of this falls from 7 am to 7pm Saturday, final flakes around midnight. #WeatherWisdom pic.twitter.com/fzflYLLhfe

What is Rhode Island expecting: RI may implement travel ban during Saturday blizzard
I now feel pretty confident in saying that somebody somewhere in southern New England, probably SE #MAwx, is going to get 3-4 feet of snow between tomorrow night and Sunday morning

Remember what happened the winter of 2015?
7 years ago today the 2015 Boston Snow Blitz began in which Boston received 7 feet of snow in 3 weeks (Jan 26/27 - Feb 15).

Why is New England getting snow much snow?
Moist air from the south will meet cold air from the north.
[6:40 AM Fri.] Amazing to think that the #blizzard that will hit us late tonight and tomorrow STILL hasn't formed, yet we've been talking about it since Monday! Moisture gathering off the Carolinas...the embryo of our nor'easter. #WCVB pic.twitter.com/u0xLyoiWMm
