Texas Rep August Pfluger has criticized what he called the Biden Administration’s “weak border policies” in a series of tweets posted during his visit to Del Rio on September 18.
The border “crisis”, he said, had “reached a boiling point.” Del Rio officials, Pfluger said, were “not equipped to handle nearly 15,000 migrants pouring into their community.”
Reports said the migrants were from several countries, but that the majority were from Haiti.
In response to the situation, the Department of Homeland Security said it was sending a “surge” of 400 agents to Del Rio. The department also said it would be providing “additional transportation to accelerate the pace and increase the capacity of removal flights to Haiti and other destinations in the hemisphere.”
Pfluger said these measures were “not nearly enough to tamper the chaotic situation.” Credit: Rep. August Pfluger via Storyful
