Crocker museum to auction more than 200 pieces Saturday

Sacramento’s Crocker Art Museum will auction off more than 200 total works this Saturday, July 18. Some of the bidding has already started, and the online auctions will close Saturday afternoon and evening, with proceeds going to support the museum.

Bidding has already started for the “Big Names, Small Art” silent auction of works sized 12 inches by 12 inches or smaller. Each piece started at $25. “Big Names, Small Art” will close starting at 1 p.m. Saturday, with one piece going every minute.

At 5:30 p.m. Saturday, a live auction of 10 pieces of art will begin, streamed on Bidsquare. Participants can both watch and bid on the online platform.

Finally, a silent auction of 90 works by artists from the region will close starting at 7 p.m. Saturday, with one piece going every minute.

The event will be the Crocker Art Museum’s first all-online summer auction, held amid a pandemic-induced shift to digital content.
