Crofton business encourages racing on track vs. public roads

Street racing on public roads has been a constant problem in the Baltimore metro area and to help solve the problem, the owner of a racing track is encouraging drag racers to do it on their property. Drag racing is something that Charles Paramore said he loves to do. And when Paramore does, he comes to the Capital Raceway in Crofton. It is a place where drivers can bring their cars and feed their urge to put the pedal to the metal. Margie Hicks, the owner of Capital Raceway, said she is hoping they can prevent tragic scenes. On Fridays, Hicks said around 80 drivers come out to race and more than 100 people just come to watch. She said they have EMTs and police on site for safety.
