Croton-Harmon Coronavirus: 1 School Staffer Tests Positive
CROTON-ON-HUDSON, NY — A staffer at Pierre Van Cortlandt Middle School has tested positive for the coronavirus, the New York state schools dashboard shows.
The staffer works at PVC and lives in the district, according to the dashboard.
District officials did not post anything in the health announcements section of the PVC website.
Under the district's testing plan, officials said they would share any information they received about a positive COVID-19 test result immediately with the Department of Health, and also begin a contact tracing process.
"While the Westchester County Department of Health (WCDOH) has the primary responsibility for contact tracing, effective contact tracing is a joint collaborative effort - WCDOH will need the assistance of schools in providing staff and student lists and schedules and other information to identify exposed individuals," the plan says.

The School Nurse MUST be notified when a student develops COVID-19 symptoms
during or outside school hours. The student must seek a health care professional for a
diagnosis and report COVID-19 positive cases to the School Nurse. The School Nurse
will contact the District Office (Mr. John Griffiths - Assistant Superintendent)

Mr. Griffiths will inform the Superintendent of Schools Dr. Deborah O’Connell of positive
cases who will consult with Dr. Eric Mier, district’s physician. Information will be shared
with the Department of Health immediately.
Four out of five students in the Croton-Harmon schools are participating in the hybrid learning model, which began bringing kids back to classrooms the week of Sept. 14. The district is closed Monday for Yom Kippur.
