During a drive-in rally in Las Vegas on Friday, former Vice President Joe Biden drew honks of approval when he criticized Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell for saying in an April radio interview that state governments should consider bankruptcy instead of receiving federal COVID-19 relief aid.
JOE BIDEN: The House has already passed a similar piece of legislation. And we started the longest sustained recovery in American history. But you know what Mitch McConnell said about helping the states? I'm not making this up. He said let them go bankrupt. Let them go bankrupt.
What in the hell is he talking about? Folks, we're so much better than this.
We can turn this crisis into progress. We can contain this virus and fully reopen our economy.
