Crowd Size Limited For 2020 Sesame Place Christmas
LANGHORNE, PA — Sesame Place will be offering limited admissions this year for its annual Christmas offerings.
A Very Furry Christmas Celebration is scheduled for select dates running from Saturday, Nov. 21 through Jan. 3. The 17-acre Langhorne park's outdoor space will be transformed with millions of twinkling lights and festive decorations to spread holiday cheer.
On Monday, the park said capacity for the event will be "significantly limited" due to coronavirus concerns. The park's health and safety measures will be enhanced to include increased cleaning and sanitation, temperature checks and face covering requirements.
This year, the park will host two special, Christmas-themed shows with physically distant seating. "A Very Merry Sesame Street Sing-Along" is a new show that will feature Elmo, Abby Cadabby, Bert, Ernie and Zoe performing holiday favorites.
"Elmo's Christmas Wish" will let kids join Cookie Monster, Rosita, Grover and Zoe as they help Elmo find his Christmas wish.
Santa also will be on hand at Sesame Place this year. During a contact-free experience, guests can have a physically distanced visit and drop off letters and lists in Santa's special mailbox. Reservations are available, but not required, and guests may also pre-purchase holiday photo packages on the Sesame Place website.
On select dates from Dec. 12-18, there will be special Hanukkah celebrations. They'll include learning about the Jewish Festival of Lights, listening to traditional music and a menorah lighting ceremony, with physical distancing. The celebration will be led by a local rabbi, Grover and Baby Bear, who celebrates Hanukkah with his family.
This year also will feature Sesame Place's first Kwanzaa celebration, from Dec. 26-Jan. 1. Visitors can join Sesame Street favorites taking part in special kinara lightings each night.
Four varieties of hot chocolate will be for sale, as well as other food and drinks.
The train ride, the Sesame Place Furry Express, will feature a physically distanced tour of The Twiddlebugs' Gingerbread Factory. Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer will be back, along with his friend, Clarice, and available for photos at Rudolph's Winter Wonderland.
The 1-2-3 Christmas Tree Show features a 30-foot, fully illuminated tree that will project animated images while guests can dance along to a holiday-music soundtrack.
Tickets are date-specific and require a reservation. Children under two do not require a reservation or ticket. Pre-paid parking is encouraged.

Also for 2020, Sesame Place is hosting a Christmas drive-through for visitors who prefer to stay in their cars.

"As we continue to promote our enhanced health and safety protocols, our guests are also invited to make holiday memories during A Very Furry Christmas where they can warm up next to a toasty fire, enjoy tasty treats of the season, see a holiday-themed show, ride on their favorite rides, and more."
