A month on and Bridgerton is still all we can talk about. From fans uncovering a bunch of hilarious modern-day blunders like double yellow lines on a road, to realising two of the show stars previously appeared in the Harry Potter movies, we're still obsessed. And now Bridgerton internet sleuths have discovered something else we initially missed when marathon-watching season one over the Christmas period.

While we know the show was filmed at some of the UK's most stunning stately homes, we didn't realise some of the scenes were shot in the exact same rooms as our other Netflix love, The Crown - and we've got TikTok user @rakhee_81 to thank for pointing out the striking similarities.

While shooting scenes at what's supposed to double as Buckingham Palace, The Crown hired out a number of stately homes, including Lancaster House in London and Wilton House in Salisbury, and these were also used for Bridgerton filming.

Featuring an identical backdrop, the Queen, played by Olivia Colman, and Simon Basset, played by Regé-Jean Page, both sit at the same desk with the same framed photographs behind them. In The Crown the location serves as Buckingham Palace, while it's Simon and Daphne's home in Bridgerton.

@rakhee_81 also pointed out that the backdrop for the scene showing Princess Diana roller skating around the halls of Buckingham Palace is the same hall where Simon and Daphne speak to Queen Charlotte about their marriage.

For obvious reasons, you're not allowed to breeze into a stately home and rearrange the furniture, which would explain why the backdrops are pretty much identical.

Bridgerton director Julie Anne Robinson recently opened up about the restrictions, telling Deadline: "When you go into a country house, there is far less flexibility than you can ever imagine, you can’t move the bed, you can’t move the painting, you can’t move the wardrobe, and you have to be quite delicate with the furniture."

Roll on The Crown season five, Bridgerton season two and our eagle eyes.
