Olivia Colman might be an Oscar and BAFTA-winning actress in high-demand but she's revealed that there's one role she's desperate for that she's not quite landed yet – a part in a 007 adventure.

Olivia recently starred alongside actress and writer Phoebe Waller-Bridge in her hit comedy series Fleabag, and with Waller-Bridge now working on the script for the currently untitled 25th Bond movie, the actress is hoping to use her connections to land a part in the spy franchise.

"Oh, trust me, I've tried! I've asked!" Olivia told Entertainment Weekly, saying that she would be more than happy for Waller-Bridge to write her a role in the film.

Whether or not Olivia will be joining Daniel Craig in the spy blockbuster remains to be seen, but the actress did also share that Waller-Bridge did grant her wishes when it came to her Fleabag character.

"I think I begged Phoebe to be in it, when she was writing the first [season]," Olivia explained.

"I will be eternally grateful to Phoebe, because she said, 'What sort of things do you want to say?' And I went, 'Could you write me someone who's a total [spells out a four-letter expletive]?'

"So she made up this person for me. Yeah. I always wanted to play the baddie and she's written a really good one."

While she's waiting for the Bond call, the actress can next be seen in season 3 of Netflix drama The Crown, which sees her take over the role of Queen Elizabeth II from Claire Foy.

Colman recently joked that taking over the role had been "horrendous", saying: "Everyone loves Claire, so I have got the worst job in the world at the moment.

"The first week, I did feel myself trying to do Claire impressions. 'What would she have done?'"

The Crown season 3 will air from November 17, 2019, while seasons 1 and 2 are available to stream on Netflix now.
