Cruise to the Bahamas for $49: Margaritaville at Sea offers deal for teachers, guests
With summer coming to an end, many students are headed back to school. But Margaritaville at Sea is offering an affordable way for their teachers to take one last vacation.
The cruise line is running a “Back to School, Back to Sea” sale, offering $49 fares for educators and their guests on Bahamas cruises. “With school back in session, Margaritaville at Sea is sending a special thanks to teachers, support staff and employees by offering an incredible rate to enjoy a quick getaway to the Caribbean,” the line said in a news release.
Educators can sail for free, while the discounted fare applies to one guest in the same stateroom. Other travelers including current and former U.S. military service members; government employees; and police, fire and EMS personnel are also eligible for the deal. Travelers must book by Aug. 28.
Margaritaville at Sea launched its “Heroes Sail Free” program last year, allowing first responders and other select travelers to sail free once a year with a paying guest.
What are the terms of Margaritaville at Sea's sale?
The $49 fare is good for an interior stateroom on the line’s 658-cabin Margaritaville at Sea Paradise ship through Nov. 15. The two-night cruise sails round-trip from Palm Beach, Florida to Grand Bahama Island.
That price applies to cruises departing Sunday-Wednesday, while sailings that begin Thursday-Saturday cost $99. Passengers can also upgrade to Ocean View stateroom “for a standard upcharge,” according to the release.
The fares do not include taxes, fees or port expenses, which each guest has to pay.
Passengers must have their eligibility verified through e-commerce site GovX, and the offer has a blackout date on Sept. 2.
