Crumbl announces opening day and the Farmers Market is coming back: Business in the 318

This week has been a busy week on several fronts. The world of business is no exception. From new businesses announcing their grand opening to local non-profits opening new facility that will be able to serve more of the area. Business in 318 has all the news you need to know.

Crumbl is opening in Bossier. What does the owner have to say?

Crumbl Cookies will be opening its doors in Bossier City on Friday, May 13.

"It has been almost a year since we started this venture. So, for us to have a grand opening day is a big deal," Brad King, Owner/Operator of Crumbl said. "We are excited for the community, both Shreveport and Bossier. Obviously, Bossier being the first one to open and shortly after that the Shreveport."

Shreveport welcomes the first pop-up luxury picnic service

In 2021, Meredith Meyers a teacher at North Caddo Elementary embarked on a journey to launch the first luxury picnic event business.

Boards and Blankets is a luxury pop-up picnic service that can turn any lunch party into an event with its signature lace tepee and pops of pink. It's the first of its kind in the area and can be found in Betty Virginia Park or in your own backyard.

What started as an idea to for cute brunch options has grown.

On Thursday the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana celebrated 25 years of service to the area with a ribbon cutting of the new facility located on Mount Zion Road.

The Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana was established in 1997, when a group of individuals from churches and organizations joined forces to create a food bank that would serve all of northwest Louisiana.

For 25 years the mission of the food bank is to work together to solve hunger.

The Shreveport Farmer's Market is returning in June

The Shreveport Farmers' Market will open for its 36th summer season on Saturday, June 4 from 7:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. downtown at Festival Plaza.

The market features 75 vendors offering a variety of homegrown and homemade items like fruits, vegetables, herbs, plants, meats and many other goods in addition to local art, jewelry, crafts and more.

Several breakfast and lunch options will also be available for purchase to eat while you shop.
