New Crumbl Cookies shop opens in SLO County: ‘Satisfying your sweet tooth’

Crumbl Cookies held its grand opening in San Luis Obispo on Friday morning, celebrating the third local location for the fast-growing growing cookie company chain.

The store, located at 481 Madonna Road, is one of over 800 Crumbl Cookies locations across the nation.

The other San Luis Obispo County spots are at 2307 Theater Drive in Paso Robles and 503 Five Cities Drive in Pismo Beach.

Customers at the new store can expect to to be able to sample more than 200 unique flavors — from milk chocolate chip to key lime pie — on the shop’s weekly rotating menu. The new menu can be seen on Crumbl’s social media every Sunday.

The store is expected to continue to celebrate its grand opening with a “Pink Party” on Saturday, featuring live music, face painting and giveaways, according to a news release.

Cal Poly graduate ‘excited’ to bring Crumbl Cookies to SLO

Beside “satisfying your sweet tooth,” the San Luis Obispo shop also brings more than 40 job opportunities to the area, according to the release.

The location is owned by Julie Craven, Angela and Lary Smith and Ben and Michele Fowler, according to the release.

Craven, a Cal Poly alumna, has lived in both San Luis Obispo and Los Osos, and said she was looking forward to the opportunity to open a Crumbl Cookies locally.

“I am so excited and honored to put roots down once again in San Luis Obispo and bring all of our family, friends and communities together over the world’s best cookies,” Craven said in the release.

Meanwhile, the Smith family resides in San Saba, Texas, though Angela Smith hails from the Central Coast, according to the release. The Fowlers are from Bakersfield, where Michele Fowler is a stay-at-home mom, small business owner and animal rescue volunteer and Ben Fowler is a firefighter.
