CT School-By-School Coronavirus Cases Released

CONNECTICUT — Connecticut released its first batch of public school-by-school coronavirus data Thursday, which showed there have been 459 recorded staff cases and 1,061 student cases in public and private schools between the beginning of September and Wednesday.

The figures include students learning remotely. It doesn’t include administrative staff who work in a central office outside a school building.

There were 130 COVID-19 cases reported among staff and 250 among students in the past week, according to the state’s new school coronavirus dashboard. The reporting period is between Thursdays and Wednesdays. That’s an increase of 25 cases among staff and 19 among students compared to the previous week’s numbers.

Connecticut looked to data from other states and around the world when officials crafted the state’s back-to-school plan.

“They are finding the same thing as we are, that in-classroom activity is a low infection area, at least to-date,” Lamont said during a Thursday news conference.

Lamont has previously said that contact tracing data shows that virus transmission within a school setting is rare and that transmission typically occurs outside of school activities.

For students, there were 81 cases for full in-person school, 106 for hybrid learning and 62 for those whose schools are fully remote.

There were no schools that had more than six cases in the past week, according to the database.

Below are school-by-school coronavirus cases from the state Department of Education. The case figures are only from the past week. The education department reports exact case counts over six. Schools with case counts between one and five are reported as “<6”.

The education department also notes the data will be updated weekly each Thursday. Some schools post their own data on their websites and if that data differs from the state, it's likely due to differences in reporting periods.
