CT state police: New Fairfield school employee charged with sexual assault of a juvenile

A New Fairfield woman is charged with second-degree sexual assault and other counts following an investigation into allegations that she had sexual contact with a juvenile, according to Connecticut State Police.

Andie Rosafort, 31, who is described by state police as “an employee of the school system”, also is charged with enticing a minor by computer and risk of injury to a minor, state police said.

State police said the investigation began when the New Fairfield Police Department was contacted by administrators at New Fairfield High School in January, as they had received information regarding “possible inappropriate contact between an employee of the school system and a juvenile student.” The investigation by the school resource officer was later assumed by Major Crime Unit detectives, state police said.

State police said that through various interviews they learned that the victim had left a party in January to meet with an adult female, who initially was tentatively identified as Andie Rosafort. The victim told police they had been “communicating through private messages on social media for several months, with an adult female, who the victim later identified as Rosafort.” The victim also told police they had allegedly received unsolicited sexually explicit images and videos of Rosafort sent from a social media account and that Rosafort allegedly would send messages requesting images of them, state police said.

The victim alleged that Rosafort picked them up at the January party, “drove a short distance away and had contact of a sexual nature with them, inside of the SUV” she was driving, state police said.

State police said that detectives “conducted an examination of the victim’s cell phone and discovered several screen recordings of videos on a social media platform containing explicit content and depicting an individual identified by investigators as Rosafort.” Further, state police said they obtained “Rosafort’s cell phone data as well as records from a social media account associated with Rosafort and found photos and videos consistent in appearance with those described by the victim.”

State police said the request by Western District Major Crime Squad for a warrant for Rosafort’s arrest was was granted on Friday. Rosafort turned herself in at Troop A in Southbury Monday and is free on a $100,000 bond while scheduled for arraignment on March 1 at Danbury Superior Court, state police said.
