The camp has been at White Star Park since 1984. They have individual barns with different activities, all based on "Weird Science" including physics, medicine, wood shop, magnetism, forensics, crafts, and imagination station.

“The kids loved the trading post’s cold treats. Imagination station was a hit and the kids enjoyed earning stickers for their water bottles,” said Meagan Rhode from Pack 370.

The camp brings together a team of Cubmasters and volunteers to guide and mentor youth whose ages range from 2nd to 5th grade. There was also swimming, fishing adventures, outdoor, cooking, first aid training, and BMX bikes.

“My biggest takeaway was spending time with my grandson and seeing the excitement in his eyes,” said Joyce Sandel from Pack 361.

Each scout received a water bottle and collected stickers for each activity they completed, just like a badge.

Volunteers make the camp happen

“I would just like to extend a thank you to all the dedicated volunteers," said James Clark, district executive for Boy Scouts. "They put their time and energy and resources into this program it wouldn’t have been done without them.

“Scouting is a wonderful program to be involved in. I grew up in the Scouting program personally and wanted to give back as much as I can”.
