AKIKO FUJITA: Well, now to another story we are closely monitoring. Cuba has begun to restore power across the east of the island after landfall by Hurricane Ian caused a total collapse of the nation's grid, leaving around 11 million people in the dark. The storm, now just shy of a Category 5, is heading across the Gulf of Mexico. It is expected to hit Florida later today, with landfall just south of Tampa. Governor Ron DeSantis saying it's now too late to evacuate.
