Cumberland City to have the next Daejin Advanced Materials USA Inc. operation

A Mastered In Tennessee release announced a $10.2 million investment from Daejin Advanced Materials USA Inc. will go to establish operations in Cumberland City.

The announcement came from Tennessee's Governor, Bill Lee, Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner, Stuart McWhorter, and Daejin officials.

“Our skilled workforce and strong business climate make Tennessee the ideal state for companies to thrive. I commend Daejin Advanced Materials for its commitment to invest and create jobs in Houston and Stewart counties so that Tennesseans can thrive,” said Gov. Bill Lee.

The facility will be located in the Stewart-Houston County Industrial Park and will create 83 new jobs over a 5-year period.

This new facility will help the company to move forward with manufacturing process trays for electric vehicle batteries. This location will also help the company to be closer to its customers and partners in the southeast part of the country.

The company plans to expand its production to include vacuum-forming, plastic extrusion, plastic injection, and assembly.

“We are very excited to have our second U.S. plant in Cumberland City, Tennessee. This plant will be an important operation, which will expand our business in North America. The local community and the state of Tennessee have been extremely supportive, and we strongly believe that our company and the community can work together and grow together in the years to come,” stated Sungjoon Yoo, CEO, of Daejin Advanced Materials USA, Inc.

The company was founded in 2019 and specializes in the research and development and manufacturing of polymers for the electric vehicle battery industry. It is also a Korean-based Daejin Advanced Materials subsidiary, which employs approximately 1,000 people across Asia, Europe, and the U.S.
