Cumberland County Schools announces plan for expected winter weather

Cumberland County Schools will release students and employees two hours early Thursday because of weather, the school system announced Wednesday night.

“CCS’ inclement-weather plan focuses on the safety of students and staff,” a news release states. “District leaders want to ensure students and staff are off the roads before conditions deteriorate.”

All athletic events and after-school activities are canceled for Thursday and Friday, the news release stated.

The district’s after-school care, Prime Time, will operate for two hours after the dismissal of students and be closed Friday.

Friday will be a remote learning day for all students to independently work on assignments.
