Cupp: Allen County projects getting over $800K in funding

Aug. 29—LIMA — Ohio Rep. Bob Cupp, R-Lima, announced Monday that two Allen County projects have been approved for nearly $900,000 in combined funds by the State Controlling Board.

The first project is an $800,000 roadwork development grant to support public roadwork improvements for Lakeview Farms in Delphos. This comes after Allen County Commissioners recently approved a 90 percent tax abatement over the next 10 years allowing for up to 180,000 square feet of new space to be constructed at Lakeview Farms. According to Cupp, this project is expected to help create 15 new jobs and retain 322 others at the facility.

The remaining $88,121 of approved funding will help complete a renovation at Allen-Oakwood Correctional Institution, providing drainage between two existing inner and outer perimeter fences to support an anticipated non-lethal electrified fencing system. The original motion detection system was also partially replaced, with these funds paying for new cables for that system.
