Current administrator with Summit County Clerk of Courts appointed to acting clerk post

Summit County Executive Ilene Shapiro announced Thursday the appointment of LaToya Jones as acting Summit County Clerk of Courts.

Jones will assume this role on Jan. 1, 2024, and serve as acting clerk of courts until the Central Committee of the Summit County Democratic Party appoints a replacement.

Sandra Kurt, the current Summit County Clerk of Courts, will vacate the office on Dec. 31 to become Akron Municipal Court Clerk.

Jones is currently the Summit County Clerk of Court’s director of administration.
